IndyFringe Building
The Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival is pleased to announce that its headquarters is located at 719 East Saint Clair Street, in the Massachusetts Avenue Arts and Theatre District, directly across College Avenue east of The Beilouny and just south of the Art Bank. IndyFringe would like to thank the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation, Inc. and LISC for their generous support in funding the restoration and renovation of the building.
The new space will allow the Festival to remain close to its traditional home on Massachusetts Avenue while providing additional space to increase shows for the 2009 festival. The St. Clair Street building will house IndyFringe offices as well as providing accessible, low-cost performance and rehearsal space for independent artists.
The Festival will utilize the space exclusively for FringeNext youth performance events during the month of the Festival. The building already features a full program of performances by independent artists through to July 2009.
The building has undergone extensive renovation before becoming the full-time home of the Festival in 2009. To this end, IndyFringe has received funding from Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation to replace the roof, interior roofing, windows and door, wiring/plumbing and some painting.
The building is now equipped with a 20' x 12' stage, theatre curtain and wings, LED lighting, tech deck and audience seating for up to 100.
Funding for the building feasibility study came from the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation. IndyFringe is proudly supported by The Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF affiliate; the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation; A.W. Clowes Charitable Foundation; Cummins Foundation; the Arts Council of Indianapolis, the City of Indianapolis and the Cultural Development Commission; Young & Laramore; NUVO; IndyMonthly Magazine; and the many partners, donors and volunteers who support the IndyFringe festival.

Join Refried Fringe!
REFRIED FRINGE: A RADICAL MARCHING BAND. Are you a former bando, show choir or theatre kid? Can you rock out on a kazoo? Do you like performing just for the fun of it? Is there a little rebellion in you?
IndyFringe is launching a radical marching band, inspired by Rude Mechanical Orchestra’s visit to our festival last year. A radical marching band is all about breaking the rules of band (no shakos here!), playing ridiculously fun and crazy tunes, and causing a public ruckus.
Our radical marching band will be a low-time-commitment group that will lead our Opening Night parade at the festival in August. You definitely want to be a part of that party. Plus, it’s a great way to perform in a fun, no-pressure atmosphere, and meet other artsy, hip, nerdy, creative, random, culture-lovin’ rebels. We are looking for musicians of every assortment and level of talent as well as people who like to dance like fools, wave things in the air and create something exciting to look at (aka an unconventional dance line/color guard/visual performance hybrid).
If interested, please go to http://lb.wufoo.com/forms/refried-fringe-a-radical-marching-band/, fill out the form, and join us at our Informational Meeting on July 13.
