Set 20 years in the future when rape is supposedly eradicated, this powerful solo play seeks to raise awareness about sexual violence and combat systemic oppression through "Tour-de-Force" Qurrat Ann Kadwani’s eight characters. Politics, media, the legal system, psychology, education, male and female sexual assault, and LGBTQ inclusivity come together to unravel the intricacy of rape culture.
"Intrusion” written and performed by Qurrat Ann Kadwani–a powerful message with a determined, powerful actress/author...Expect a tour-de-force performance while being educated in a creative piece.
Review by KC Fringe Reviewer Teresa Leggard
"...Every detail expertly articulated...
Under the thoughtful direction of Constance Hester, Kadwani’s energy remains high and focused. The costume changes help to distinguish characters along with Kadwani’s voice work, and the props enhance the spectacle without overtaking the performance.
“Intrusion” is a hypothetical question gone right."
"A solid job...Kadwani has created something powerful... it takes necessary steps toward sparking a long overdue dialogue about sexual violence in our culture." - The Broadway Blog
