DIVAFEST 2017

Sat, 2017-02-18 16:07 -- admin

According to the New York State Council on the Arts, only 22 percent of stage productions across the country are created by women; that’s up from a dismal 17 percent fifteen years ago. We must do better.

DO NOT UPDATE THIS NODE :-) Use the other one. :-)

DivaFest is a juried playwrighting festival sponsored by the IndyFringe each year.

Nationally, only 19% of published contemporary plays have been written by women. We are seeking to change that.

Over the past seven years, DivaFest has fostered the growth of new works, new audiences, new performing companies, and new fringe festival shows.

The Lipstick Monologues: Traces of Her Lipstick
By Ardre Orie
With the rise of feminism, women are the most powerful force in the world. Our voices can not be silenced. From education to entrepreneurship to activism, we are game changers and innovators, bearing our souls to the world. But what about love? The old fashioned saying "We can do anything that a man can do" blurs the lines between love and war and lust and sex. Journey to a place where women say goodbye to the double standards and take matters into their own hands. Will love live or die? You be the judge.
